Hearing Aid
- Hearing aid is a small electronic device that you wear in or behind your ear. It’s make sounds louder so that a person with hearing loss can listen communicate with others.
- Hearing aids work by amplifying sound through a three part system. The microphone receives sound and convert it into a digital signal. The amplifier increases the strength of the digital signal. The speaker produces the amplifying sound into the ear.
Types
- BTE- Behind the ear. It covers mild to profound loss. It connect with the ear by mould.
- ITE- In the ear, it covers mild to severe loss.
- ITC- In the canal, it covers mild to moderately sever Loss.
- RIC- receivers in the canal. Attached with a receivers mould or dome.
- CIC-completely in canal. Cover mild to severe loss.
- Analog -pocket model . Connect with a wire .
- Chargeable rechargeable machines.

Information about hearing:

Normal Hearing-0-25hz, / 40 decible. Over 85 dB it’s called damage.
mild loss – 25-40 dB

moderate loss-40-60dB

profound loss- 80-120 dB

Audiometry is hearing test. It is done by Tympanometer.
Low frequency sound- 250-500Hz like water drop, clock ticking.
Mid frequency sound- 1khz-2khz male voice, normal sound of things,animals etc.
High frequency sound- 4khz-8khz, quarreling, chirping, female voice, high honking.
AC-Air conduction. External ear to audiemetry cortex sound.
BC-bone conduction- Sensoneural structure measurements.
